ROCKLAHOMA SEVERE WEATHER
As we prepare for what will be an unforgettable weekend of rock, it’s important for us to remind you that weather is obviously something we cannot control. Our on-site meteorologists and first responders heavily monitor any threats in real time. There are three main conditions they’re constantly monitoring: significant heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. If any of these weather threats are headed in our direction we immediately take steps to keep everyone safe, which could include closing entry gates, stopping performances and/or evacuating the facility.

The biggest potential advantage we have to keep everyone safe is TIME. Because it takes time to calmly move tens of thousands of people to safety, we do everything we can to stay ahead of any storm threat and try to not wait until the threat is immediately upon us. We understand that it may seem frustrating and confusing when the skies don’t look threatening at that moment when we tell you we have a stoppage or evacuation due to weather. But we ask you to understand we must use that advance time to ensure your safety BEFORE the storm threat hits. It’s never our preference to stop the show or to inconvenience any of you by having you seek shelter or leave the facility, but we will not compromise the safety of our fans, the artists, or our working personnel. That will always come first for us.

In the event of an evacuation, we ask that all patrons return to their vehicles / campsites for safety (remain in cars or RV’s, not tents).

Messaging regarding gates reopening, revised set times etc. will be found on our Facebook, Instagram & Twitter pages as well as via push notification on our mobile app. You can also tune into 97.5 KMOD for festival updates. If an evacuation occurs we will keep everyone informed and updated.

We appreciate each and every one of you, and we are grateful for your patience and understanding if we have to work through any severe weather threats during the festival this weekend.
